Things to do in the local area

Suggestions if you arrive early

Many guests arrive before the designated check in time. We always try to allow an earlier check in time where possible and will let you know if you can check in early on the day.  The good news is there is plenty to do in the local area. We often suggest that guests visit the local store in Boxgrove or the Goodwood farm shop to do a small shop. That will give you more time to relax once you have checked in! There is also our local pub The Angelsey Arms that serves food everyday. Booking advised.  If you fancy a glass of fizz the Tinwood Vineyard is located opposite the cottage and is open daily for food and fizz.

The vineyard is located opposite our cottage and is open daily for vineyard tours and serves food and drink. Or book afternoon tea or their famous Sunday lunch during the winter months.

Goodwood

Famous Goodwood is located 2 miles from our cottage and hosts many events such as Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Glorious Goodwood. Goodwood House also offers tours and afternoon tea and has a spa.

Halnaker Windmill Walk

You can walk to the famous Halnaker windmill from our cottage. This is a beautiful walk with some stunning views.

The Anglesey Arms

Our local pub is within walking distance of our cottage. It serves food and drinks all day and has a beautiful garden. Booking advised.

The priory is located a short walk away from our cottage and is open every day.

Local Shops

Boxgrove village store is our local store. It stock everything from everyday staples like bread and milk, to store cupboard essentials. Locally sourced produce and a take away cafe. Open daily.

The Goodwood farm shop is located a short drive from the cottage. Sell local produce and is open daily. Orders can be placed online and delivered.

A wide range of  national supermarkets are located in Chichester. 

Chichester

The historic city of Chichester with its beautiful 600 year old cathedral, shops and a wide range of restaurants is located 3 miles from our cottage. Enjoy beautiful walks or a boat trip along the Chichester canal. There is local bus that stops near the cottage and will take you into the city centre.

Arundel

Arundel is a short 8 mile drive from our cottage. Enjoy a visit to Arundel castle, a stroll around the antique shops or Swanbourne Lake or stop off for tea or a meal in one of the many tearooms and restaurants.

There are many great beaches located a short drive from our cottage.

Bracklesham Bay - 11 miles - PO20 8JS. Shingle beach Paid parking.

Bognor Regis – 8 miles- PO21 1JN. Paid parking. Pier, restaurants and Butlins.

Climping - 9 miles - BN17 5RN. Shingle beach. Paid parking.

Felpham - 9 miles - PO22 7EE - Street parking. Several cafes and a few shops.

Littlehampton beach - 13 miles - BN17 5LG. Sand and shingle beach. Amusements, shops and rides. Paid parking.

West Wittering - 12 miles - PO20 8AU. Sandy beach and café. Due to its popularity you need to book parking to visit the Witterings beach.
